The first-ever season of girl’s flag football begins at Illiana this Saturday, September 7. The Vikings play John Adams High School of South Bend on the soccer field at 11:30a. Though not yet an IHSAA-sanctioned sport, flag football has been growing in popularity on the high school level, thanks in large part to funding provided by the NFL. Our team has been generously funded by the Indianapolis Colts, who are providing equipment, uniforms, and training for the upcoming season. The team is coached by Mrs. Heidi Teach and Miss Taylor Benes. This year the team will have a short, three-game regular season. This Saturday’s game is the Vikings only home game of the season.
